We're Pregnant!!

It was Father's Day weekend 2007, during a camping trip, that we found out that we were pregnant. I had been feeling exhausted and constantly hungry for most of the weekend, so we decided to take the test. The feeling after reading the positive test was indescribable. This is what we had hoped for, what we had planned for. Our minds and hearts were racing as we let reality set in. It was an unforgettable trip, and we knew from that moment on that our lives had already changed forever.....

How it all began,....

Ok, we all know how it happens, but this story is actually worth mentioning. Legend has it that after conception, mechanical bull riding may have something to do with producing twins...... In early June, I attended a national sales conference in Denver for work, and at this point had no idea that we were pregnant. As an obvious precaution, I drank O’Douls vs. my "usual" Heineken. After dinner, our upper management surprised us with a mechanical bull, which was so exciting to me! Some good, old fashioned, healthy, competition. It didn't take long before my friends and I were daring each other to have a go at it. Completely sober, I jumped the bull and hung on for dear life. I think the Bull riding operator kicked it up a notch when he noticed that I was taking this bull riding thing way too seriously. I must have looked ridiculous, my legs and arms were holding on so tightly, (I swear I have a new found respect for authentic bull riders). It took a while for him to fling me off, as little did he know I was going for my own personal record.
The next morning I woke up and noticed that my inner thighs were completely bruised blue and purple. I remember calling Kevin that morning, to tell him about my "wild night" on this mechanical steed, ending with laughing about the bruises it had “souveniered” me with. I'll never forget his response, "That's great honey, but are you sure that was such a good idea? I mean, you could be pregnant for all we know!" I felt awful, I never thought about it that way! A few weeks later we found out that we were expecting twins! To this day it stands that during this bull ride, I must have knocked some things loose internally, hence,… ahem.... well,..twins! So let this be a lesson to all of you!
